ALTERNATE_SHOTS

I cut several leaves into the shape of Ohio and spent an afternoon photographing them in different location in my backyard, experiementing with leaves of different colors and against a large variety of backdrops. A wasp just happened to land on one of my leaves as I was shooting and although the imagery is very cool it did not line up with the meaning and idea I had in mind so I would not end up using it.

FINAL_RESULT

I love the final result of this project. I feel like it came out exactly how I wanted it to. I wanted to capture the feelings of stagnancy and reflection present in the album with imagery representative of the harsh changing of scenery in the Ohio midwest. I did this by making the front and back an inverse of each other, with the front having a green leaf against an earthy leaf-littered background, and the back being a fallen leaf against grass. I then had the inside shot be a transition shot literally bridging the two sides.
